The company, which has nearly two billion users, according to The Wall Street Journal, said they will have until May 15 to review and adopt the new policy, when the data changes take effect.
The deadline was February 8th, but WhatsApp said “This policy will be reviewed by them”.
“We heard from many people how confused we are with our latest update,” the company said in a statement.
“There is a lot of misinformation that causes concern and we want to help everyone understand our principles and facts,” the statement said.
